Stockport County were established in 1883. In 2009 though, the club is finding things particularly difficult.
Due to current financial constraints brought about by County being in administration, they have been left with little or no budget for even the most basic training equipment.
The club hopes to find a new owner who will appreciate and maintain it's proud history at Edgeley Park, the only football ground the Queen has visited.
But in the meantime we are asking for your help.
The current manager is former County and Sheffield defender Jim Gannon who is finding his first managerial appointment tough. He has his hands tied and is experiencing a steep learning curve. Due to the club being in administration a squad of just 20 senior players is allowed. Even so, 5 of those are under the age of 18. Recent injuries have led to 16 year olds having to be included in the matchday squad.
To aid Jim and his staff we are asking the football community to help out. We are not asking for millions of pounds, just whatever you can afford.
We can either accept financial donations which will be put towards much needed equipment, or if you would rather donate a specific item, we have a list which can aid you with that.
All we are striving for is to give the manager a level playing field on which to compete. At the time of writing County have lost nine league games continuously and it is obvious one of many contributing factors to this was the lack of training equipment.
Some of those factors are out of our hands, but it is hoped we can make a positive contribution directly to the playing and coaching staff with this campaign.
Should you wish to purchase an item you will see a stock list, this is how many of that item is still required for the club.
Remember the more people you tell about this site the more chance we can achieve our target of giving the manager and players a fair place of work.
Any company that can only donate money with some form of media attention needed then please do get in touch as those who make a considerable donation Jim Gannon is prepared to meet you with the press.
It is important to note that any donations will not belong to the club. They will belong to a help the hatters who will lease all the equipment for 1p per year. Please also note that all financial donations will only go to the club in the format of a peice of equipment. No money shall physically be able to be spent by the administrators any anyone in charge of the club. Only the Manager himself will be able to tell me what he wants it spent on. |
